8/14/2018 · Gun smith says Ruger told them they could not replace the SR9 as they are not making them any more. Ruger did offer to replace with a discounted Ruger American, but cannot give a date as they are having production issues. This really sounds Un-Ruger like to me, especially sincebthe SR9 .
1/8/2019 · Location: Monroe County, MS. There will be plenty of them at the retail level for quite a while, and Ruger will continue to support them for a few years. Not the first time they or any other manufacturer has discontinued a model, and it won’t be the last time. If you still want one, buy it.
1/8/2020 · The Security 9 chassis is aluminum, the SR9 ’s is stainless steel, IIRC. I bought an SR9 several months ago from CDNN for $300, then another from Sportsmans Warehouse last week for $250. Hard to improve on those values for a quality gun, as I paid $430 for my first SR9 10 years ago.
4/18/2019 · A few months ago ( Oct 2018) , I was speaking to a Customer Service rep trying to buy magazine parts for the SR9 , and asked about the rumor that the SR9 / SR40s were being discontinued . I was told that since the gun ( SR9 ) was listed in the catalog, it was still in production.
1/5/2019 · Ruger has brought a lot of new product to market in recent times. I’m not surprised to see some of the older guns phased out. In the meantime, SR9 /40 owners know what a great pistol they have. I may be looking for another good used one before they.
